140th Anniversary 140km Walk

This October, during the school autumn break (13–19 October 2025), Glasgow Battalion Secretary Jim McVean will be taking on a special challenge to mark the 140th anniversary of the Glasgow Battalion.

The plan is to walk 140km, beginning at the 1st Vale of Leven BB Hall in Alexandria and visiting every current BB Company location across our Battalion. The journey will finish at the 1st Glasgow in the West End - a symbolic end point for a walk that celebrates our history and community.

The aim is to raise funds to support local BB programming, Battalion activities and events that make such a difference to young people across Glasgow.

We are encouraging Companies and Leaders to get involved in the fundraising. Half of what you raise will go directly to support programme work in your own area, with the other half helping to deliver Battalion-wide activities and events.
